TONIGHT: Mincha/Ma'ariv at 6:40 pm, at CBAJ for pre-registered participants, and at our Zoom link for anyone.
At CBAJ, Ma'ariv will take place at the earliest time Ma'ariv may be prayed, which is well before the fast begins (participants should verbally state a condition that their Ma'ariv prayer does not indicate that they accept the fast, and then may go home and eat).
The in-person portion will consist only of the Ma'ariv prayer. My remarks leading into Tisha B'av, our reading of Eicha, and the nighttime Kinnot recitation will all take place virtually in the CBAJ Zoom Room (access information below) starting at 8:30 pm (the fast begins at 8:20 pm).
Thursday will follow a similar pattern. Outdoor Shacharit for registered participants only will consist of the prayer and Torah reading only.
For Kinnot as well as all-day Tisha B'av learning, we are partnering with Yeshiva University-RIETS for a virtual Day of Learning. The program begins at 9:30 am with explanatory Kinnot and continuing with world-class lecturers. Access information can be found at this link (Zoom links and telephone dial-in instructions).
Mincha/Ma'ariv will be at 6:30 pm at CBAJ for registered participants, or on Zoom for everyone
My lecture will take place in the CBAJ Zoom Room at 7:30 pm
The fast ends at 8:52 pm
I encourage everyone to participate in our programming; you will find that the day and fast become much meaningful if spent reciting kinnot and studying about the destruction. May we all have a meaningful fast and be able to soon see nechamat Tzion v'Yerushalayim, the comforting of Zion and Jerusalem.
