It is hard to believe that Rosh Hashanah starts THIS MONDAY NIGHT! Here at CBAJ, we are preparing feverishly to ensure a meaningful Yamim Noraim experience for everyone.
See above for our High Holy Day Newsletter, information about mens' mikvah use at the Bnos Israel Mikvah, as well as recordings of the tunes we will be using at CBAJ for Yamim Noraim services!
It is with great sadness that we mourn the deaths of four IDF soldiers killed yesterday in the war Gaza: Maj. Omri Chai Ben Moshe, 26, from Tzafria; Cpt. Eran Shelem, 23, from Ramat Yohanan; Lt. Eitan Avner Ben Itzhak, 22, from Har Bracha; and Lt. Ron Arieli, 20, from Hadera; along with two IDF soldiers murdered by a terrorist who was driving humanitarian aid from Jordan into Israel to be transferred to Gaza: Lt. Col. (res.) Yitzhak Harosh, 68, a reservist in the Civil Administration, from Jerusalem, and Sgt. Oran Hershko, 20 a liaison officer with foreign forces in the IDF’s Tevel international cooperation unit, from Tel Mond.
Likewise, it is with great sadness that we mourn the deaths of three police officers from York County, Pennsylvania, who were murdered responding to a call for help: Detective Sgt. Cody Becker, Detective Mark Baker and Detective Isaiah Emenheiser. Their deaths remind us of the risks taken by law enforcement and emergency responders to keep our communities safe. May their memories be a blessing and remind us of to have gratitude for the important work they do and the sacrifices they make.
Am Yisrael Chai.
Shabbat Shalom, Rabbi Ben Kean
