MESSAGE FROM RABBI KEAN
On behalf of Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob, I would like to wish you and your family a restful and meaningful Shabbat.
This Shabbat is known as Shabbat Chazon, named after the opening words of this week's Haftarah, taken from the beginning of the Book of Isaiah, which laments the sins of the Jewish people that led to the destruction of the Beit HaMikdash. This Shabbat is an additional opportunity to prepare ourselves for Tisha B'Av.
This Shabbat, we have a visit from a couple that is considering relocating to Albany. If you see anyone that you do not recognize, please introduce yourself.
Miriam and I will be out of town this Shabbat, from Friday through Sunday, for a family commitment. We look forward to seeing you all when we return.
I hope to see you soon at a tefilah, children's program, event, or class!
Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Ben Kean
