MESSAGE FROM RABBI KEAN
On behalf of Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob, I would like to wish you and your family a meaningful and restful Shabbat.
First, I would like to thank everyone who joined us in welcoming a beautiful new Torah this past Sunday! It was truly wonderful to share this simcha with so many of you! In particular, my gratitude to all of those who helped make the event possible.
A reminder that this Tuesday, November 8th, is Election Day, and I urge you to make sure that you cast your vote (if you have not done so already). Especially in the digital age with incredibly precise demographics on voting, it is imperative that we make our voices heard.
I trust that you have received my and Laura's message on an anti-Semitic incident last Shabbat. Please know that we are monitoring the situation closely. Additionally, you may have seen that the FBI had announced a credible terror threat to synagogues in New Jersey. We were assured by Federation that this threat was NOT relevant to Albany, and furthermore, the threat has been neutralized. As always, please remember to remain calm and vigilant.
Miriam and I will be away next Shabbat, but we look forward to seeing you when we return!
As the year progresses, we have many new programs and events, and I hope to see you soon!
Shabbat Shalom, Rabbi Ben Kean
