This Shabbat is Rosh Chodesh Elul, which means that Rosh HaShanah is only one month away! This means that it is time for each of us to begin preparing our hearts and minds for the new Jewish year and Day of Judgment.
Here at CBAJ, preparations for the coming year are well underway! As you can see from this week's Shabbat notes, we are already beginning put new events on the calendar. Please continue to check your emails from CBAJ as more programs and events are in the works.

NEW RABBINIC INTERN - Welcome Rav Jack! Jack Hartstein, originally from Scarsdale, NY, is thrilled to be entering his third year involved with the Albany and CBAJ community this time as Rabbinic Intern!
Rav Jack is currently pursuing his Rabbinic Ordination (Semicha) at the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS at Yeshiva University), where he takes a variety of classes in Jewish Law, public speaking, and contemporary issues in the Rabbinate. He is also a participant in the joint RIETS-FERKAUF Graduate School of Psychology program in Mental Health Counseling.
Rav Jack loves to listen to and write music, go for runs, sing, dance, act, and learn Jewish philosophy and mysticism.
He finds it important to encourage Jews of all ages to think deeply about their unique Jewish heritage and introduce ways in which God and His holy Torah an be integrated into one’s life in a concrete and authentic way.
Rav Jack is so excited to continue to share the joy and light of Jewish life with the CBAJ family and is looking forward to being a friendly source of comfort, strength and guidance to all.
