CONDOLENCE With great sorrow, CBAJ regrets to inform you of the death of Emmunah Esperanza Esther Bailand Vana Wolk, daughter of Sanda Bailand Vana and Daniel Wolk, sister to Yosef, Eliyah and Yedidya. Emmunah died on June 8 at age 20. The Wolks are former members of the Albany community, and although they moved many years ago to Zichron Yaakov, Israel, they come back and visit often. Emmunah attended Maimonides Hebrew Day School, Camp Gan Israel, and attended CBAJ with her family. Her friends here remember her as fun, vivacious, colorful and interesting. May the Omnipresent comfort the family and may Emmunah's memory be a blessing. The family is sitting shiva at 5A November-29th Street, Zichron Yaakov. The visiting hours are: Sunday, June 12 – Tuesday June 14, 4-9 pm. Condolences may be sent to clsicgrl81@gmail.com.
On behalf of Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob, I would like to wish you and your family a meaningful and restful Shabbat.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this past Shavuot such a wonderful yomtov! We had wonderful learning throughout yomtov, an exhilarating Tikkun Leil Shavuot, delicious meals that were great community bonding events featuring divrei Torah from CBAJ children, and engaging and fun NCSY and youth programming.
In particular, I would like to thank the following groups of people: ~Those who spoke at the Tikkun Leil: Josh Gurock (with thanks to Sean Ference), Nathan Graber, Samson Goldberg. ~Those who helped prepare and serve meals over Shavuot: Amanda Gurock, Dina Gottesman, Chana Israel, Amarit Rosin & Rebecca Schwarzmer. ~Those who helped with clean-up: Artie & Nanette Brenner. ~Our NCSY advisor team: Jack, Tova, Jonathan, Rachel, Samson, and Ami. ~In addition to all the baalei tefilah, lainers, greeters, and kiddush volunteers whose constant help make everything we do possible.
I hope to see you soon at tefilah, a youth program, or a social event.
