SIMCHA KIDDUSH The Simcha Kiddush this Shabbat is prepared by the Simcha Kiddush Committee, and co-sponsored by CBAJ, and by the families of our celebrants:
Rabbi Moshe & Rebbetzin Rochel Bomzer in honor of the bar mitzvah of their grandson, Tzvi Hellman, and the engagement of their granddaughter, Leah Aliza Goldblatt, to Moshe Sprei.
CBAJ, out of gratitude to all of the volunteers - from those who helped with Mishloach Manot, the Purim carnival, moving furniture, the leiners, the gabbaim - who helped make Purim such a meaningful day.
Rabbi Kean, in appreciation for all of those who helped ensure that there were two minyanim this week, both at the Schwartz family home for shiva and in shul.
On behalf of Congregation Beth Abraham-Jacob, I would like to wish you and your family a meaningful and restful Shabbat.
Passover is right around the corner! Please remember to sell you chametz and donate to our annual Ma'ot Chitim (Passover Relief) Campaign. If you have any questions on any of the halachot (laws and customs) of Pesach, please reach out to me. Likewise, if you are still interested in hosting or being hosted for a Pesach seder, please reach out to me.
We mourn the tragic loss of life and injuries in recent terror attacks in Israel, continue to pray for the safety of our brethren in Israel, and continue to keep Israel and Jerusalem al rosh simchati, above our greatest joy and the forefront of our minds.
With the Russian invasion of Ukraine ongoing, I urge you to take a moment to pray on their behalf. CBAJ is joining the "Shuls for Ukraine" initiative organized by the OU, the RCA, and the National Council of Young Israel, along with over 100 other Orthodox synagogues. If you are able to, please consider donating to a relief fund for the Ukrainian people, such as the Orthodox Union's Ukraine fund. We pray for the safety of all Ukrainians, including the tens of thousands of Jewish Ukrainians. Shabbat Shalom, Rabbi Ben Kean
